1. | Dissolve the yeast in the water. |
2. | Add flour, sugar and salt. |
3. | Mix well until dough forms a ball in your hand. |
4. | Roll dough into 6 snakes about 10" long each. |
5. | Press ends tightly together to form a doughnut shape. |
6. | Bring a large pot of water to a boil. |
7. | Place bagels in the boiling water for 2 minutes each. (The longer they boil, the chewier they are in the end.) |
8. | Remove from the water and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. |
9. | Bake at 350° F for 20 minutes until golden in color. |
